Entrepreneurship involves the creation and development of businesses and is closely linked to innovation. It plays a crucial role in economic development, as the growth of entrepreneurship provides the foundation for economic progress. The entrepreneurial ecosystem comprises various actors, including entrepreneurs, governmental and non-governmental agents, and investors, all of which influence one another. The conditions of this ecosystem affect business performance and processes, ultimately impacting the country’s economy. Therefore, it is essential to identify and consider the factors that foster the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Since entrepreneurship is closely tied to new ideas, innovation is one of the most critical components of the ecosystem. Innovation manifests at economic, social, and even political levels, reflecting the characteristics of the system. This research investigates the impact of innovation on the development of Iran's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Using an applied study method and correlation analysis with Copula, the study analyzes data from the Global Entrepreneurship Index, Global Innovation Index, and economic growth for the period 2016–2023. Findings indicate that increasing innovation in Iran enhances economic growth. However, within the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, results show caudal independence, suggesting that productivity increases in one area do not directly affect the other. The limited impact of innovation on Iran’s entrepreneurial ecosystem may be attributed to the growing complexity and novelty in goods and services.
